WHITE LIES/ EXIST TO PROTECT PRIVACYWHITE LIES/ EXIST TO PROTECT PRIVACY Employing the forms of question and command, WHITE LIES/ EXIST TO PROTECT PRIVACY explores a landscape of shifting relationships between viewer and viewed, public and private, and our collective imagination surrounding protecting and claiming space. *The projections and performance were originally designed to occupy the Midtown South police precinct’s garage door facade directly across the street from Theaterlab. In an effort to shield Theaterlab from any police entanglement (however minor) the collaborate:create curators asked for – and were unsurprisingly denied – permission from the local precinct.
